Jeff Caranto is both a passionate geothermal specialist and a leader. He sees the opportunity and pursues it through. He leads a team of competent professionals who shares his passion of growing the company in local and international arena. In the Philippine setting, his vision is for NGAP to not only maintain and grow the strength of local talents as global experts in geothermal, but also to usher the industry to thrive in a challenging environment. As Head of the Exploration and Growth team of the Geosciences and Reservoir Engineering Group of EDC, Jeff leads the organization in pursuing potential high value projects, while undertaking specific projects that help manage and maintain the current operating assets of the company. He was also involved in NGAP related activities especially in pursuing Renewable Energy initiatives with the DOE. Previously assigned as a wellsite and exploration geologist, hydrogeologist, he headed the geology section and rose to become a geology specialist for Philippine and Indonesia projects. He then managed the drilling team for a couple of years as the company transitioned into an asset-light organization. Jeff eventually became the head the Exploration and Resource of EDC’s projects in Chile and Peru, where he was involved in the project implementation and in the assessment of potential opportunities in other Latin American countries.
