I am Marivic Olivar, AVP of Petroenergy Resources Corp. (PERC). Maibarara Geothermal Inc. (MGI) is one of the subsidiaries of PERC and operates the 32-MW Maibarara Geothermal Power Plant in Batangas. I have been in the geothermal industry for 22 years (PNOC-EDC is my former employer prior to joining PERC) and I can say that I have accumulated enough experience in the industry, both in the Technical aspect and Business/Project Development side of the business.
The current Board Members are doing an impressive job in forwarding the cause of the geothermal industry in the present challenges that the industry is facing. I would certainly like to extend and continue what they have done to impress upon the government what geothermal, along with the other Renewable Industries, contributes to the country.
On the local front, I envision more inclusive activities such as trainings or workshops for all members. I also would push for NGAP to be more active in the international community, by having more interaction with the geothermal association in other countries.
