Premier Geo-Exel Inc. bags DOE Geothermal Contract

Promoting Clean Energy in the country and Worldwide

In line with the objective of increasing geothermal installed capacity from both conventional and binary technologies by year 2040 and promoting direct-use applications of geothermal resources in the Philippines, the Department of Energy launched a project for geological and geochemical studies of six (6) geothermal prospects, namely Bugias-Tinoc, Pugo-Tuba, Mt. Ampiro-Malindang, Mati-Lupon-Tarragona, Mt. Sembrano, and Coron.  Following a bidding process, the project was awarded to Premier Geo-Exel, Inc. (PGEI) on June 28, 2018 for a two year-contract.  The contract and notice to proceed (NTP) were signed on August 17, 2018.  To date, geological and geochemical fieldwork investigations have been completed in Buguias-Tinoc, Pugo-Tuba, and Mt. Sembrano. Target completion of the project is by end of 2019.  The results will be the basis for selection of possible 3 areas for geophysical survey.
